Born in Naples, Italy, Joe was raised in Manhattan, New York, where he began his career as a pizza maker in 1976. In 1997, he relocated to Mobile, Alabama, to seize a job opportunity at Dante's Pizza. Throughout his life, Joe has been a devoted family man, believing that family, whether by blood or not, is fundamental. He also deeply values community. After 44 years in the pizza industry, Joe is now planning to slow down his work to dedicate more time to travel and visiting family. Joe's Pizza and Pasta is renowned for its authentic New York-style pizzas, achieved by baking directly on the stones of a Baker's Pride deck oven. This method ensures the distinctive crisp crust sought after but hardly found in the South. The restaurant commits to freshness by preparing its dough and pizza sauce in-house daily and chopping vegetables daily. Joe's dedication to quality means using only the finest cheeses and toppings, never compromising on ingredients for the sake of efficiency.
